Diabetic Cataracts

The importance of an ocular examination by an ophthalmologist at the time of the

initial diagnosis of diabetes is illustrated here with these six photographs.

          All four of these cases had advanced to Glaucoma prior to an ophthalmic exam

                                            and responded poorly to Rx.  Vision was not returned.

                         9 year old Labrador Retriever              8 year old mixed breed

Both dogs were blind on ophthalmic presentation.
